| Frequently Asked Questions Will Purrfect Paw™ fit any sofa or chair corner? Purrfect Paw™ is manufactured from thin, lightweight acrylic and while it is somewhat flexible, it will not bend or mold to accommodate a shape other than the "average" sofa with some variation of a 90 degree corner, which just happens to be cats' favorite scratching posts. It will not fit a unique chaise lounge with a rounded backside nor will it attach properly to the front panel of a sofa or chair with large brass upholstery pins, wood inserts or arched armrests. Purrfect Paw™ cannot be cut to fit your furniture. If your sofa, chair or loveseat does not have some type of defined corner(s) in the front or back, Purrfect Paw™ is probably not the answer. Is Purrfect Paw™ very noticeable on my fine furniture? Purrfect Paw™ is virtually invisible on most fabrics and especially so on any type of print or design. It is 'noticeable' on solid, darker colors but most would probably agree that Purrfect Paw™ is far more attractive than shredded furniture. Can Purrfect Paw™ be easily moved or removed? Purrfect Paw™ can be moved, removed and repositioned as many times as you like. How long will Purrfect Paw™ last? Purrfect Paw™ will remain in place for years. This is just one advantage Purrfect Paw™ has over comparable products - it NEVER needs to be replaced. It will never yellow or crack and is shatterproof. It will not attract dirt or dust and rarely needs to be cleaned. It does not need to be plugged in or turned on - it is always on the job. Purrfect Paw™ is also an effective tool in discouraging marking (male spraying) and inappropriate urination by dogs. How do I know which size and shape I need? There are two sizes of Purrfect Paw™. Small is approximately 12 inches high and 5 inches across and the large is approximately 15 ¾ inches high and 6 inches across. They are both a crystal clear profile of a cat and will cover the areas of a sofa or chair that a cat, in a stretched-out arched clawing position, tends to claw. The large Purrfect Paw™ is best for high backed chairs or sofas, furniture with pleats at the bottom, while the small Purrfect Paw™ is more suitable for the front or backside of sofas or chairs with overstuffed armrests or less area to cover. I am worried about putting a hole in my sofa fabric with the twist pin. The twist pin will make a hole smaller than one claw inserted. You are given a choice of six different holes and four pins so you can insure a secure attachment and proper weight balancing on all fabrics. Makes a great gift for anyone who has a new kitty in the house and/or new furniture, house-warming parties and purr-fect for the person who has everything (including a cat who likes to claw the furniture.) It almost seems like my cat is mad at me, he is so destructive. According to the Humane Society of the United States: "Although some people think a cat's scratching behavior is a reflection of his distaste for a couch's upholstery, a not-so-subtle hint to open the drapes, or a poorly conceived Zorro impersonation, the fact is that cats scratch objects in their environment for many perfectly normal reasons. For instance, cats scratch: To remove the dead outer layer of their claws. To mark their territory by leaving both a visual mark and a scent— they have scent glands on their paws. To stretch their bodies and flex their feet and claws. To work off energy. Because scratching is a normal behavior, and one that cats are highly motivated to display, it's unrealistic to try to prevent them from scratching. Instead, the goal in resolving scratching problems is to redirect the scratching onto acceptable objects."
